Being a conservative, Trump is quite scary. I’d have put World War 3 as a remote possibility before. There are too many safeguards and reasons it would not happen.

Trump has discussed removing a large number of them. He has shown reckless disregard for foreign policy and its impacts.

The Cold War is scary to look back on. Trump’s rhetoric feels like it brings us back to the bluster that took us to that brink under Truman and Eisenhower.

Think of the events leading up to a world war as dominoes. Currently, the table is well protected and there are screws holding key dominoes in place. Even if a row falls it doesn’t take down everything. Trump has said he wants to remove the screws and appears to be threatening to kick the table.

I don’t understand why that is a good thing.
