News is a fight for eye balls. It is for a profit. If you no one watches, reads, or listens to your content you make no money.

Entertainment news has become a requirement.

This didn’t start with the Daily Show, but it was done exceptionally well by it.

You can see Jon Stewart defending the position that CNN should do better than them with this old video where he spars with Tucker Carlson.

I expect CNN to do better than the Daily Show. How can they though when they are in direct competition with each other for eye balls?

We need a better system to separate out what is entertainment news and what is a factual source and publication of record.
